Swimming with Monsters

Overview

This RTS-nominated series of technical animations were created for the groundbreaking Discovery Channel documentary ‘Swimming with Monsters,’ starring Steve Backshall. In the series, Steve travels the world in search of notoriously dangerous animals and goes swimming alongside them to learn more. These animations were essential in explaining various facts and discoveries that would be otherwise very difficult to describe.

THE PROCESS

A lot of the subject matter in this TV series was very new science so there was very little to no documentation available. We consulted experts and accessed the archives of various museums to conduct through research to ensure that anatomical statements and facts were correct. You can see the process in the short film below.
