Edg-Pro

Overview

Edg-Pro is an ongoing product being developed for Edg-VR to deliver a wide range of training content over a network of VR headsets and tablets.  The framework accommodates users at every level, from the trainees using the headset devices, to the trainers controlling the courses using the host laptop and the administrators using the online portal to collect results.  Edg-pro is a well mapped, education multi-platform that is streamlined to deliver education.  The Edg-pro system supports a range of content such as hazard perception tasks, assessments, 360 videos and games.  The framework makes it easy for every user that interacts with any of the Edg-Pro products and is currently being used across Anglian water and Openreach training centres across the UK.

Edg-Pro Family

The edg-Pro system comprises of a series of apps that all communicate and make life easier for each of the users involved in the training process:

• Edg-Pro Host

• Edg-Pro Student

• Edg-Pro Module builder

• Edg-Pro Portal

The ‘Edg-Pro Host’ is an application that puts the control of the workshop session into the hands of the trainer.  Using the host, the trainer launches content and can observe up-to 20 users simultaneously on the mobile app call the ‘Edg-Pro Student’.  The trainer can track the progress of their class and quickly identify which students need assistance.  Training modules can be built by administrators using the ‘Edg-Pro Module Builder’. This includes a range of content based around utilities training, from health and safety modules to fully interactive street works simulations. All interactions from the users is recorded by the software giving a record of progress for all users, which is submitted to the online database. The ‘Edg-Pro Portal’ then allows administrators to filter and download the results of the training and assessments for use in quality control or analytics.  The portal is designed with scalability in mind making it easy for Edg-Pro staff to create new accounts, add new content and build bespoke courses with very little effort. 

The Edg-Pro framework has been specifically designed with ongoing relationships with Anglian water and Openreach to ensure that the problems that are faced with utilities training are solved with this intuitive system.
